Repackaging

Busted boxes, too many boxes, boxes too heavy, boxes too big

Amazon enforces a few rules on incoming boxes; they can't be too big, or too heavy.  In either of these cases we will automatically repackage boxes, according to these rules:

  • If any side of a box is longer than 63 cm, or 25".  Of course, if the box is a single item, this does not apply as you are sending an oversize item that Amazon expects.  We will use 6 cubic foot cartons, which have dimensions of 20 x 20 x 26 in, or 50 x 50 x 66 cm.
  • If a box weights more that 22.5 kg, or 50 pounds. Of course, if the box is a single item this does not apply as you are sending a heavy item that Amazon expects. We will use as few cartons as possible while maintaining the weight limit.
  • There is a charge per retired carton to pay for its disposal.

If a box is damaged on its way to us, we will repair it, at no cost to you, if possible.  If we must replace a box, we will use a new carton of a suitable size, adding dunnage, or resizing as necessary. Amazon weight, and dimension limits apply.  There is a charge per retired carton to pay for its disposal.

If there are just to many boxes coming in, and it would impact your shipping cost, you can ask us to repackage into denser boxes.  This can be done in two ways, while respecting Amazon weight, and dimension limits:

  • Packing boxes into bigger boxes. We will use 6 cubic foot cartons, which have dimensions of 20 x 20 x 26 in, or 50 x 50 x 66 cm, to aggregate your shipment. There is a charge per aggregated carton.
  • Packing items into bigger boxes, while retiring cartons. We will use 6 cubic foot cartons, which have dimensions of 20 x 20 x 26 in, or 50 x 50 x 66 cm, to pack as many items as possible, from as many cartons as possible. There is a charge per retired carton to pay for its disposal.
